Ali Jaffery MD

Dr. Ali Jaffery is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine who joined Inova in 2024 after completing his residency and chief residency responsibilities. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Monmouth Medical Center. During residency he served as Chief Resident, a role that reinforced his skills in inpatient and outpatient care coordination, supervision of learners, and systems-based practice.

In clinical practice Dr. Jaffery focuses on comprehensive primary care and chronic disease management with particular interests in diabetes prevention and treatment, hypertension, cardiovascular risk reduction, diet and lifestyle counseling, and preventive health. He emphasizes evidence-based, patient-centered care, shared decision-making, and clear communication. Dr. Jaffery coordinates closely with specialty services within the Inova system when patients require subspecialty evaluation, and he supports accessible, longitudinal care, focusing on medication optimization, risk-factor control, and practical self-management education for patients and families.
